Ahhh the sun in Seattle! What a beautiful thing. This is some architecture from the Pacific Science Center. I wanted to take advantage of the clear sky while I had the chance.
Joy.
Here is another and I like how the random black lines of the usher ropes create a contrast to the symmetrical forms.
I have been stuck in the house all day due to an illness and I was very very very very very very bored.
I bought a very cool phone at a thrift store about a month ago and I decided today that I would attempt to shoot it under medicated circumstances. :)
This is the result. The lighting was crap for the phone itself but the cord was super textured and interesting so I stuck with that.
Hey, at least I don't have to ask their permission. :) Plus they are such hams. Lovely birds crowded me at the beach today. Ok, they only wanted food but damn they are great subjects. :)
I love this storefront and I have taken so many pics of it. Here is my latest and I realize that I love the reflections but I would love it even more if I had a polarizing filter to help reduce the intensity of the street scene. Hopefully I will get one soon, PBB maybe?!
Damn, I love ivy and when it covers the whole wall. The windows and building are now dripping with character. This is one of the many reasons why I love New Orleans so much. Ivy crawls every wall and makes them sing.
Well, I actually missed yesterday because I was going from 8 o'clock in the morning until 1 am this morning. Vicki was a bit on the tired side. So here it is, the final day.
I took this at the waterfront near Pike Place Market. These, as you can probably tell, are floating something or other near the docks. :)
I found this window with a lock and a broken metal screen in an alleyway near Pioneer Square.
This was part of a window display in Pioneer Square, an area of downtown Seattle, and I immediately fell in love with it. Hooray!
I think I actually like this one better with the black and higher contrast. So here ya go....Day #6 redux!
I think I like this photo more for its form than color abstraction. I am going to try this in black and white as well. I will post it when done.
This is an extreme close-up of the Clam Cannery in Port Townsend. I fell in love with the metal texture and wood grain side by side. Also, the colors were pretty frakkin' cool as well.
Today the weather was stunning. My sister Carol and I decided to take advantage of it. We ended up taking the ferry to the Olympic Peninsula to a coastal town named Port Townsend. I found this great Clam Cannery there and decided to take a few shots. This one was my favorite.
This is my picture for day 3 of the colorful abstract challenge. If you can't tell, this is a picture of scissors on a pink piece of paper. I had fun with this one...I really enjoy playing with color.
